Wayne County child rapist sent to prison

Jeremy Briscese of Waymart was sentenced Thursday to decades in state prison.

HONESDALE, Pa. — An admitted child rapist in Wayne County will spend decades in prison.

Jeremy Briscese, 42, of Waymart, was sentenced Thursday to 24 to 50 years in state prison.

Briscese pleaded guilty in August to charges of rape, rape of a child, unlawful contact with a minor, and child pornography for photographs of the victim.

He was arrested in July 2022. Court papers indicate Briscese kept a record of the assaults on the minor child by marking his calendar with hearts, totaling 143 assaults between March 2021 and February 2022.

Evaluators found that Briscese is a sexually violent predator and is subject to a lifetime registration requirement.
