Fire damages home in Wilkes-Barre

Officials say the flames broke out around 4 p.m. on Saturday.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Fire crews in Wilkes-Barre were busy battling fire at a home along Beech Street on Saturday.

Officials say the home caught fire just before 4 p.m. and when they arrived, flames were shooting from the second floor.

One person was home at the time but they made it out safely.

The cause remains under investigation but officials say the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
