WAYNE COUNTY, Pa. — A woman is dead, and three others have been hospitalized after a car accident in Wayne County Wednesday afternoon.
State Police said the two-vehicle crash happened around 3:30pm on Route 6 between Old Route 6 Township Road and Creek Drive near Prompton.
According to police, the crash occurred when one vehicle that was traveling westbound crossed into the eastbound lane and hit the second vehicle head on.
The westbound vehicle's passenger, identified by State Police as 86-year-old Alice Varga, was killed in the crash.
The driver of the westbound vehicle and the driver and passenger of the eastbound vehicle were all transported to local hospitals.
State Police said it is unknown why the westbound vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, and the investigation is ongoing.
