Lumberjack competition held in Sullivan County

The competition was part of a fall festival that took place at the Sullivan County Fairgrounds in Forksville on Saturday and Sunday.

FORKSVILLE, Pa. — The endless mountains featured some friendly competition Oct. 14 and 15.

The 47th Chainsaw Carving and Lumberjack Competition and Fall Festival took place at the Sullivan County Fairgrounds in Forksville on Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend featured all the fair staples like crafts, food and live music, but also several competitions where folks from all over Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania put their chainsaw skills to the test.

“We've got a lot of wonderful talent here, I mean it's just unique, I don’t think people realize what these carvers can do when they get these logs placed in front of them and turn them into beautiful, beautiful things,” said Candy Williams, event coordinator.

More from the competition will be featured Monday night during “Check It Out with Chelsea” on Newswatch 16 at 7, and later on WNEP.com.
