Wilkes-Barre police probe two reports of shots fired

Authorities say no one was hurt in two incidents of gunfire reported Tuesday and Wednesday

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Investigators in Luzerne County on Wednesday were looking into two separate reports of gunshots in Wilkes-Barre twelve hours and roughly 1,500 feet apart.

In both cases, no one was injured. An investigation remained ongoing Wednesday into each report.

At 2:11 a.m., two women in the 100 block of Brook Street told police a man just fired a single gunshot at them and fled, police said. The women, who are 34- and 42-years-old, could not provide a detailed description.

That report came just about 12 hours after police rushed to South Franklin and Ingham Streets for calls of gunshots in the area, officers said.  No description was available of the shooter.
