Wilkes-Barre NAACP carries on the legacy of MLK

The NAACP in Wilkes-Barre is carrying on the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The Wilkes-Barre branch of the NAACP hosted a program Friday at the Luzerne County courthouse to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.

Constance Wynn's sister started the branch in Wilkes-Barre 40 years ago. She says there is still work to be done to unite our communities.

"It's fabulous that we're still going because there are so many things that can bring a good organization down, but it's like the people come at the right time. There's always more and more, so we've been so very grateful," said Constance Wynn, a member of the NAACP.

The NAACP in Wilkes-Barre is also preparing for its annual MLK Day of Service on Monday.
