Flights to Myrtle Beach coming to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport and Breeze Airways announced plans for fights to Myrtle Beach beginning this summer.

AVOCA, Pa. — You will soon be able to fly to Myrtle Beach, SC, from Wilkes-Barre / Scranton International Airport.

At a news conference Wednesday morning, officials from Breeze Airways and the airport announced that beginning June 20, 2024, nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach will begin taking off Thursdays and Sundays from the Scranton area.

"Team AVP has looked forward to the return of nonstop service to Myrtle Beach, and we're glad that Breeze Airways will provide that service to northeastern Pennsylvania and our travelers," said Carl R. Beardsley, Jr., AVP Executive Director.

Breeze Airways' President Tom Doxey added, "We have seen great demand from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, as seen through the expansion of our Orlando service and this new flight to Myrtle Beach."

According to officials, flights will begin at $49 one way if purchased by April 30 for travel by January 7, 2025.

Myrtle Beach flight schedule:

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AVP) to Myrtle Beach, SC (MYR):

Depart AVP at 4:55 PM; Arrive MYR at 6:40 PM (Thursdays & Sundays)

Myrtle Beach, SC (MYR) to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AVP):

In November of last year, the airport announced a new partnership with Breeze Airways to bring back direct flights between Orlando and AVP.

Airport officials say this fills a need the airport has had since Allegiant Airlines pulled its service in 2018.

Flights are currently offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In May, the airline plans to increase flights to four days a week.
