How you can fly direct to Florida from Luzerne County

A Breeze Airways flight from Orlando touched down at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport Tuesday morning.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Direct flights to and from Florida are again available for travelers at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport in Luzerne County.

Nonstop flight service returned Tuesday morning after nearly six years.

In November, the airport announced a new partnership with Breeze Airways to bring back direct flights between Orlando and AVP.

Airport officials say this fills a need the airport has had since Allegiant Airlines pulled its service in 2018.

Flights are currently offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. In May, the airline plans to increase flights to four days a week.

The first flight from the Orlando International Airport landed Tuesday morning. A departing flight to Orlando left around 12:45 p.m.
