Flames scorch home in Lackawanna County

The homeowner was outside at the time and heard an explosion of some kind right before the flames broke out.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — Flames destroyed a home Thursday afternoon in Lackawanna County.

Crews were called to the place on Gudz Road in Spring Brook Township around 3:30 p.m.

The homeowner was outside at the time and heard an explosion of some kind right before the flames broke out.

No one was injured, but the house is unlivable after the fire.

UPDATE Monday, March 15: A state police fire marshal reports that the fire started accidentally in a propane grill on the back porch. The owner tried to put out the fire but it spread to the home.
