Pa. native Travis Jankowski wins World Series ring with Rangers

The Lancaster native picked up 2 hits and 2 RBIs in route to helping his team win the 2023 World Series crown.

ARLINGTON, Texas — A Lancaster native has won the World Series as a part of the Texas Rangers.

Travis Jankowski, 32, is apart of a Texas Rangers' squad that defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 in the best-of-seven 2023 World Series.

This year, Jankowski spent the season as a backup outfielder with the team, getting into 107 contests while hitting .263 with 1 HR and 30 RBIs.

Of course, the best players play during the postseason, leaving Jankowski more relegated to a bench role.

However, after outfielder Adolis Garcia was injured in Game 3 of the World Series, Jankowski was thrust into a starting role in right field.

As a result, Jankowski received his most extensive time of the postseason, appearing in three games and picking up 2 hits and 2 RBIs over eight plate appearances.

In the clubhouse after the series clincher, Jankowski said, "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else with any other people. This is a special group. It's actually really sad that the season's over... I really enjoy coming to the field every single day with these guys... working, hanging out, making memories... just a hell of a way to go out."
