Five taken to hospital after vehicle crashes into railroad car near Shenandoah

The crash happened shortly before 7 p.m. in West Mahanoy Township near Shenandoah.

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. — Several people were taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a railroad car Monday evening in Schuylkill County.

According to police, a vehicle was speeding in West Mahanoy Township near Shenandoah around 6:45 p.m. when it missed a left curve, went off the road, and struck a parked Reading and Northern Railroad coal car.

Five people were in the car at the time of the crash; all were taken to the hospital. 

There is no word yet on their conditions.
