PennDOT reduces speed limits to 45 mph

The speed limits across the area are reduced because of the winter storm.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — PennDOT has reduced speed limits across the area because of the winter storm.

Speeds are reduced to 45 miles per hour on Interstate 81 in Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Susquehanna Counties.

At noon on Monday, Tier 4 restrictions were put in place from Lackawanna County to the New York state line including I-81 and I-80 in both directions the entire length of I-84 in both directions; and the entire length of I-380 in both directions.

Due to the severity of the winter storm, PennDOT has again extended restrictions on roadways through the north central and south-central region of Pennsylvania. Speed limits have been restricted to 45 mph and commercial vehicles must move to the right lane on the following roads: * I-80 in Clearfield, Centre, and Clinton counties* U.S.
