Three taken to hospital after I-80 West crash in the Poconos

It happened after 6 a.m. Tuesday along the westbound lanes just a few miles past the exit for Interstate 380.

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — A crash injured two people and caused significant traffic troubles in the Poconos early Tuesday morning.

Troopers say around 6 a.m. a box truck lost control and overturned while traveling westbound on I-80 in Tunkhannock Township.

An SUV then hit the overturned truck.

Both drivers and a passenger of the SUV were taken to the hospital; there is no word yet on their conditions.

That stretch of I-80 from the I-380 Exit to the Blakeslee Exit was closed for about eight hours as crews worked to clear the wreck in Monroe County.
