Preparing for the 63rd Annual Home Show in Williamsport

Newswatch16's Mackenzie Aucker shares what to expect at the West Branch Susquehanna Builders Association's annual event.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Vendors are setting up inside the Liberty Arena in Williamsport for the West Branch Susquehanna Builders Association's 63rd Annual Home Show this weekend.

"It just started as a way to bring the construction trades into the consumer, there's lots of different vendors that are gonna be here, we've got builders, plumbers, electricians, also services that support the building industry like lenders and title companies, we've got pool companies, fence companies, large variety," said Laura Kriger, Executive Officer of the Builders Association.

This is the first year the home show will be held at the Liberty Arena. The event will feature more than 35,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space.

"We had been at the former Lycoming Mall the last few years, but the mall sold, and we weren't able to have it there this year, so we searched and found an awesome spot here. They have a huge open space, and we're just starting set up but everything is wonderful falling into place," said Kriger.

Over 115 vendors will be on hand for the event. Organizers say the event draws anywhere from 2,500 to 3,000 customers.

"People set up samples, people build decks, we've got a pool company that's gonna build an actual above-ground pool like it's such a cool way to see actual samples and meet people from that company, which I think is so important to build a relationship before you hire someone," said Kriger.

If you're in need of some home improvements, the home show promises to provide a little something for everyone.

"I think it's a great way for them to also to get one another because so many of these—you know with the building industry you know an electrician is gonna work hand in hand with a plumber who's gonna have to maybe coordinate at some point with a roofer or a drywaller and to have them all here they get to network with each other too," said Kriger.

The West Branch Susquehanna Builders Association 63rd Annual Home Show runs Friday through Sunday.

Admission is $5 for adults; children 17 and under are free.
