Officials determine the connection of two bodies found in Wilkes-Barre

Officials in Luzerne County have released information regarding a body found in the basement of a home and another in a wooded area in Wilkes-Barre.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — New information released by officials is connecting two death investigations in Wilkes-Barre. 

Luzerne County Coroner Jillian Matthews, Police Chief Joseph Coffay, and Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce have announced additional information in a press release regarding the months-long Carlisle Street investigation that is ongoing in the city.

Investigators have determined that the body found in the wooded area behind the Host Inn on Kidder Street in Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, March 26, is related to the investigation where a body was found buried in the basement of the home at 142 Carlisle Street, Wilkes-Barre back in February

Investigators are continuing to work to obtain a positive identity for both bodies.
