Luzerne County mother found guilty in death of baby

Jennifer Travinski was found guilty of third-degree murder in the death of her 16-day-old baby back in 2021.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — A jury found a mother in Luzerne County guilty of third-degree murder charges for the death of her 16-day-old.

Investigators say Jennifer Travinski of Larksville abused fentanyl while pregnant.

When the baby was born, police say the infant was fed breast milk that contained the drug, ultimately leading to the child's death in 2021.

The baby's father, Gary Travinski, pleaded no contest earlier this year to child endangerment charges.

That means he does not admit guilt but agrees to be sentenced as if he were.
