EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. — A shooting investigation is underway after police were called to Beverly Drive in the Eagle Ridge Apartment Complex in Edwardsville around 6:15 p.m. Thursday.
Jaivel Pope, 19, was shot once in the stomach by Erik Reyes after a "disturbance," according to state police.
Investigators say security cameras clearly captured Reyes firing two rounds at the victim, striking him once in the abdomen.
Reyes, 17, ran from the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
A search warrant was executed at his apartment in Luzerne, and Reyes was arrested. He is being charged as an adult with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and firearms violations.
He is locked up in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
Police believe this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
