WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Family and friends came together in part of Luzerne County to remember former Kingston Mayor Jim Haggerty.
Haggerty died last Wednesday after a battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
He served as Kingston's mayor from 1998 until 2017 and presided as a magisterial district judge since 2018.
Dozens gathered in the rotunda at the Luzerne County Courthouse in Wilkes-Barre Sunday afternoon to pay their respects to the former mayor.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday morning at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church in Kingston.
