Death investigation in Luzerne County

Heavy police activity in Pittston Township began around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

PITTSTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Officers put up yards of police tape along Keystone Avenue in Pittston Township after investigators were called to the Ken Pollock Volvo Dealership along Route 315 when the body of an employee was found behind a storage trailer.

Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce says police were first called to the scene just after 2:30 p.m.

While the roads surrounding the dealership remained open, a large section of property behind the business was closed off.

It was there that county investigators, members of the Pennsylvania State Police Forensics Team, and the Luzerne County Coroner's Office could be seen combing the surrounding area searching for evidence.

"The victim was employed by the dealership, and he was found by one of the other employees, who then called 911. There will be an autopsy scheduled in the near future," said District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce.

District Attorney Sanguedolce says this is an active investigation. An autopsy will be scheduled to help determine the cause of death.
