Acting director announced for Luzerne County Bureau of Elections

Emily Cook was announced as Acting Director of the Bureau of Elections Monday evening.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — The Luzerne County Bureau of Elections announced a new acting director following Eryn Harvey's resignation last week.

Emily Cook will serve as the county's Acting Director for the Bureau of Elections, according to an announcement made Monday night by Luzerne County Manager Romilda Crocamo.

Steve Hahn has also been appointed Acting Deputy of the Bureau of Elections.

This comes just days after former Luzerne County Elections Director Eryn Harvey announced her resignation. Harvey was the fifth director since 2019. She did not give a reason for the decision.

Crocamo went on to say in the announcement, "The Bureau is working on improving processes by creating more efficient and effective procedures, increase security and transparency with the election process, and maintain as much stability within the Bureau as possible during the upcoming election seasons."

Primary Election Day is set for April 23, 2024.
