LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — State police say Josean Ortiz, 24, admitted lighting a box on fire inside a mobile home near Madisonville and watching it burn before leaving with his two cats.
He returned to the home a short time later carrying the cats.
Troopers took him to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. The cats were taken to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
Ortiz faces arson charges when he's released from the hospital in Lackawanna County.
