DRUMS, Pa. — A visit to Sugar and Loaf Bakery in Drums, Pa, is like a visit to a quaint bakery and café in Europe! They offer an array of freshly baked breads, pastries and cookies all made right in the bake shop! Sugar and Loaf serves breakfast and lunch and their sandwiches feature all their own breads. They specialize in using wholesome and quality ingredients sourced locally from the fellow farmers and producers of the community.
During our visit, we baked bread with chef and owner Philip Pecora. He then prepared his signature Croque Madame sandwich making his béchamel sauce from scratch, locally sourced, ham, eggs and a superb Gruyere cheese which was served up hot on the freshly baked bread.
The Sugar and Loaf Bakery says their goal is" to provide baked goods that satisfy every aspect of the palate. When you eat something from Sugar & Loaf we want it to please the eyes, delight the olfactory, enthrall the taste buds, and satisfy the body."
