Post Holiday Heart

Over the past several weeks, so many of us have ate and drank more and probably slept a lot less over the holidays.   It’s a combination area cardiologists say can create the perfect storm for heart attacks.  It’s called “holiday heart syndrome” which can put extra stress on the heart.   Often times people ignore warning signs and confuse chest pain with heart burn from overindulging.  Sometimes the stress can carry over into the New Year with many people putting more pressure on themselves by taking on new resolutions.  If symptoms persist, health experts recommend seeing your family doctor.

For a deeper explanation of post holiday heart syndrome, Newswatch 16 talked with cardiologist Dr. Michael Kayal at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
