DUNMORE, Pa. — Lackawanna League Softball from St. Anthony Memorial Park in Dunmore. It's Mid Valley, the 3A state champions and Holy Cross.
The Lady Spartans led 2-0 in the top of the 5th when Parker Bennett slaps the ball out front of pitcher Ava Schmidt. The throw to first is not in time. Chiara Zavislak scores and it's 3-0 Mid Valley.
Bottom half of the inning, Schmidt at bat hits it out into center for a double.
Then, Mia Gallela at the plate, puts it into the dirt for Mid Valley to chase. The throw to first isn't in time and Schmidt comes home to get the Lady Crusaders on the board, trailing 3-1.
Holy Cross was trying to mount a come back with a runner on, but Ava Hazelton strikes out Grazia Cerminaro to end the game.
