Lady Royals junior center Alexix Roman uses practice time to work on her basketball skills. The Wallenpaupack graduate is off to a terrific start averaging 20ppg for 1st year head coach Trevor Woodruff.

"Definitely exciting I think our team has good chemistry this year. We lost two big players from last year, but I think we definitely re-grouped as a group this year, and we are just playing together and playing well and playing hard. Everything is different but exciting," said Alexix Roman.

"Alexix presents a lot of problems for people. She obviously has great size for Division III women's basketball at 6'1", but she moves so well and has such good hands for a post player. Once she carves out space and you put the ball within reach she is able to go get it and she get her shoulders turned she is tough to handle," said Trevor Woodruff.

Last year Roman played in 23 games as a non-starter and averaged 10ppg leading the Lady Royals to an overall record of (26-4). So far this year she's doubled her point production and her minutes.

"Roman is having an amazing year. She is such a strong post, and it's awesome to just play with her because anything you throw to her she is going to catch. I'm not surprised by her numbers, but definitely really happy for her, and really proud that she is having such an amazing year so far," said Sarah Payonk.

Roman's former Buckhorn (Wallenpaupack) teammate Bridgett Mann is here at Scranton now. She joins senior Noelle Alicea in the back-court making life easy on the inside for Roman and Payonk.

"I think his new plays and his new ideas are focusing on getting it into to her which is probably one of the best ideas. Since she is one of the strongest and best posts in the league," said Noelle Alicea.

"Having Bridgett here is awesome. We we're very good friends in high-school, also very good friends too and it's just exciting and good chemistry," again said Alexix.

Roman replaced All-American Meredith Mesaris in the lineup and is now making her mark in Division III.
