INDIANAPOLIS — It has become a tradition for hospitals in the Community Health Network to dress up babies for holidays and special events. Caregivers and families celebrated a once-in-a-lifetime event Monday.

The total solar eclipse was the latest special event marked at CHN hospitals across central Indiana. Newborns and babies in the neonatal intensive care units received special onesies designed for the occasion.

“This is likely to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience in which the babies will not remember but the families will recall for many years to come,” said Belinda Frazee, NICU director at Community Hospital North. “It is a small but special token of appreciation that connects a memory and a once-in-a-lifetime event to the care we so lovingly deliver here at Community.”

Parents received photos to commemorate the event.

“It is our hope that families will remember the experience and share the stories of their stay and the solar eclipse onesie with their children in the future,” Frazee said.
