SNYDER COUNTY, Pa. — One man is dead after an early-morning crash in Snyder County.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday in Washington Township, near Middleburg.

State police say Brock Kerstetter, 27, of Millerstown, was headed south along Route 104 when he lost control of his Volkswagen Beetle.

He was thrown from the car when it hit an embankment.

The vehicle then hit a utility pole before coming to a stop in a grassy area off the roadway.

Kerstetter was pronounced dead at the scene by the Snyder County coroner.

Route 104 was closed for about three hours while crews investigated the fatal wreck.

State police say Kerstetter was not wearing his seatbelt and that driving under the influence may have played a role in that deadly crash in Snyder County.
