Surprise for retiring Schuylkill County physicians assistant

A retiring physician assistant got quite the surprise send-off in Schuylkill County.

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, Pa. — Friends, family, co-workers, and a fire company gathered to celebrate the retirement of a physician assistant in Schuylkill County.

On Thursday, the retiring physician assistant received quite the surprise send-off in Schuylkill County. Diane Petrovich was the 10th physician assistant licensed in the Commonwealth.

At Creek Medical Center, the Nuremberg Weston Fire Company gave Petrovich a blazing farewell as a surprise. Complete with balloons, posters, and a parade around town.

"Oh my, I never expected this, absolutely never. They all fibbed. All of them. But maybe I'll retire every day. It was this much fun," said Diane Petrovich.

The community felt the send-off was appropriate since Petrovich took care of generations of firefighters for more than five decades in Schuylkill County.
