GILBERTON, Pa. — A Schuylkill County man fired a rifle at least three times Sunday at a home in Gilberton, state police at Frackville said. Six people live there, two of whom are children under the age of 5.
State police said Patrick Quinn did not actually shoot anyone, but the Gilberton man still faces six counts of aggravated assault for striking a car near a home on Railroad Street shortly after noon.
Why Quinn allegedly shot at a home is not clear. A man who was with Quinn told troopers they had been in the woods and taking aim at some hilly terrain. Then, for no apparent reason, Quinn turned and started shooting at a house on Railroad Street.
Quinn, 25, is locked up in Schuylkill County on $150,000 bail. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled February 21.
