POINT TWP. – Drug charges have been filed against Jeremy Church, the man already accused of making threats against an elementary school in Northumberland County.
Jeremy Church, 37, of Middleburg, was arrested on December 20 on charges of making terroristic threats. Police in Point Township say he threatened to go to Priestly Elementary near Northumberland and do something worse than what happened in Newtown, Connecticut.
Police say Church made the threats during an argument with the mother of his child. That woman called police, and schools in the Shikellamy School District were put on lock down for about 90 minutes.
Police arrested Church in Snyder County and say he never got close to the school. The drug charges against Church come after police say they found marijuana and cash when they searched his car after his arrest.
At his arraignment, Church called the situation a misunderstanding. He remains locked up in Northumberland County.
