Crash ties up Route 11 in Northumberland County during fast-moving storm

It happened in Point Township before 11 a.m. Monday.

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — A crash between a car and tanker truck tied up traffic in Northumberland County.

It happened on Route 11 in Point Township before 11 a.m. Monday.

Crews were called in to clean up some oil that spilled after the collision.

There is no word on injuries or what led to the crash.

Traffic on Route 11 in the area of the crash was backed up for at least one mile.

"Came from the doctor, and she said there was a bad accident, and I waited an hour already," Robert Stuck said.

Roadways were slick, causing crashes throughout our area.

"They're horrible. They're actually horrible. It was horrible getting here just to this point," Sonja Weaver said.

"Roads are bad. It started around 8:30, and it's bad," Stuck added.

Cam Campbell and his girlfriend drove from Buffalo, New York to Houston last week. Now they are on their way home.

"We got caught in the Texas storm, and now we're enjoying this storm," Campbell said. "We left the hotel this morning. We tried to leave early to get a head start. We didn't even know it snowed last night. It seems like the saga continues."

Drivers tried to take it easy as the fast-moving storm dropped several inches in just a few hours. People we spoke with say they wouldn't be out in this unless they absolutely had to be, and they can't wait to be home.

"You have to take it slow, otherwise you're going to get into an accident," Weaver said.

As fast as the snowstorm moved in, it cleared up in this part of our area by midday.

The area of the crash on Route 11 was reopened by 3 p.m.
