STROUDSBURG -- The perfect material for aspiring writers is here in Monroe County.
Those writers had a chance to pick up new skills at the 3rd annual Pocono Writers Conference.
Some writing professionals spoke to authors and editors looking to improve their craft at the Eastern Monroe Public Library in Stroudsburg.
Organizers say all writers can benefit from a free conference regardless of age or experience.
"Too many authors think they know everything without talking to everybody else," said organizer Michael Ventrella. "There's so much to learn, there's always ways you can get better. And I think having a conference where you can hear from professionals who can talk to you about what needs to be done is going to make everyone better writers. That's the goal."
Writers could also purchase tickets to have their work critiqued during workshops.
