STROUDSBURG — A man is locked up in Monroe County, accused of threatening another man and firing shots, then leading police on a chase through part of the Poconos.

According to police, Javon Bell, 23, of Tobyhanna pointed a gun at someone on Main Street in Stroudsburg early Saturday morning and fired shots in the air.

He then sped off in his car. When officers tried to pull him over, he got onto Interstate 80 and refused to stop. Police finally stopped him on Route 611 near Bartonsville Avenue.

Bell faces reckless endangerment, terroristic threats, carrying a firearm without a license, fleeing and eluding, and other traffic offenses.

He’s locked up on $20,000 bail.
