Ethnic intimidation charge in alleged Monroe County church arson

PARADISE VALLEY, Pa. — A Monroe County man has been accused of ethnic intimidation after allegedly trying to set a church on fire.

Crews were called to the Keoke Chapel United Methodist Church in Paradise Township just after 5 p.m. Monday.

Police say Steven Meyer, 65, of Paradise Township, lit a flag on fire that was attached to the church.

Crews were able to put out the fire before it spread.

Meyer has been charged with arson, ethnic intimidation, and criminal mischief in Monroe County.
