BARRETT TOWNSHIP -- A carjacking victim faced his attacker at a hearing Thursday in Monroe County.

He testified about the terrifying ordeal that happened back in October.

Richard Lebano of Tobyhanna says he's still pretty banged up after being carjacked along Route 196 near Mount Pocono a couple of months ago.

Police arrested Eddie Quick for the crime.

In court, Lebano said he wasn't afraid to fight back.

Eddie Quick was nabbed in October right after police chased him down Interstate 80 near East Stroudsburg for allegedly carjacking an elderly man at knifepoint.

Victim Richard Lebano of Tobyhanna says it all happened in an instant, when he pulled over on Route 196 to look for his cell phone.

"All he kept telling me was he was going to stab me, he was going to take my car, and if needed, he was going to kill me to get my car," recalled Lebano.

This Army veteran and Philadelphia native didn't give up without a fight. He tried to defend himself and his car that eventually crashed off the East Stroudsburg exit.

"I thought real quick to defend myself," he said. "Where I come from, you learn how to take care of yourself."

Lebano avoided being stabbed, but got pretty banged up in a vacant lot near Mount Pocono when Quick took off with his car.

"He drug me about 20 feet, and then put the car in forward and started to pull away and that's when the car hit me."

Lebano still has a broken hand, bruised ribs, and a bruised lung.

Quick was in handcuffs as he left a hearing at a magistrate's office in Canadensis, showing no signs of remorse.

Lebano says after this frightening ordeal, he's staying positive, while his suspected attacker now heads to trial.

"I feel good that the police are right on top of everything and doing their job. It makes me feel a lot more comfortable living up here."

All charges against Quick were forwarded to trial. The man from New Jersey also faces theft charges for a separate case in Monroe County.
