NIPPENOSE TOWNSHIP-- A man was killed after crashing his car into a creek in Lycoming County.
Police say someone noticed the vehicle hanging off an embankment along Route 44 near Jersey Shore around 5 a.m. Tuesday. The coroner says the crash most likely happened Monday morning.
The coroner identified the victim as Philip Kanski, 38, of Jersey Shore.
The coroner said he may have been texting at the time of the crash.
Authorities say the vehicle veered off the road, crashed into a tree, and then went into the creek.
