Enjoying the warm weather in Williamsport

Before the storms rolled in, Newswatch 16's Mackenzie Aucker caught up with folks soaking up the sun in Lycoming County.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The sun was shining once again on Brandon Park in Williamsport Tuesday afternoon. Donna Curchoe was enjoying the warm weather with her husband and their golden doodle, Brandi.

"She loves to walk, the flowers are all nice and bloom on the trees and it's just very pleasant, you can stop and rest on the bench and it's just very peaceful."

Curchoe says she and her husband try to come to the park every day to walk the dog.

"We live in a development that has a lot of hills, so we like to come here, walk on the flat, you get to know the people that walk around the same time so it's a real nice friendly park."

Josh Berstecher from Lancaster is in Williamsport visiting his family. He came out to check out some renovations at Memorial Park.

"Any time it gets nice out, we wanna spend time outside; I spend a lot of months inside during winter, so as soon as it gets nice, it's picnic season; we have a two and half and an eight-month-old, so anytime we go to the park, my son's favorite word is park so literally it's park park right when he wakes up so when the weather's nice we go to parks."

Lexie Daugherty from Williamsport was eager to spend some out of her home.

"I usually am used—cause I've been staying inside a lot, and I haven't really noticed it's been getting hot at all."

Annalise Berzi wanted to enjoy another sunny day before the thunderstorms rolled in.

"I think it's perfect after the chilly weather and gloomy weather and not being able to come outside."

Others think it might be getting too warm, too soon.

"I say a little too quick from all the bad weather that we had before but I'm actually glad that everything is changing and everything is coming along because we need this weather right now," said Lizzette Pope from Williamsport.

But there is some stormy weather on the horizon. The Stormtracker 16 team is keeping an eye on showers moving in Tuesday evening; for the latest forecast, click here.
