Human remains found at former home of missing woman

Two sisters continue to search for their missing mother, Debra Fox, the former owner of a home in Wilkes-Barre where human remains were recently discovered.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — For close to a month, sisters Melissa and Danielle Fox of Minersville say they have been searching for their mother, Debra Fox, who was last seen in Wilkes-Barre.

"It's been crazy not knowing where my mom is or anything. A lot with my mental health and worrying about her," said Melissa and Danielle Fox, Minersville.

On Tuesday, the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office announced the remains found inside a home along Carlisle Street late last month are, in fact, human. Investigators are also searching for the former homeowner, Debra Fox.

The two women say their mother left the home in Wilkes-Barre last summer.

She was last known to be living out of a nearby hotel.

"I haven't seen her since November. I left the hotel, and she was there, and after that, nothing, just three different stories," said Melissa Fox, Minersville.

Since hearing about the investigation at their mother's former home on Carlisle Street, the two sisters say they've been working with police in the hopes of finding their mother, "We are hoping to find her safe. We just wanna know where our mom is that's all," said Melissa.

"She has a big heart; she'll take anybody in. She'd rather see people safe than be homeless and all that. Somebody has to know where she is," said Danielle.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Debra Fox is asked to contact Wilkes-Barre City Detective Division at (570) 208-0911.
