Flames gut house in Luzerne County

The fire happened on Saturday around 3 p.m.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — The call for a fire that resulted in the collision of two fire trucks on Saturday was for a home in Butler Township, near Drums.

When fire crews arrived at the home in Grouse Ridge Lane, flames could be seen coming from the roof and front windows as well as the garage.

The homeowner say the fire started because he was charging a battery.

A father and daughter were home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The structure is a total loss, according to Marty James, Assistant Chief for the Valley Regional Fire and Rescue.

The Red Cross has been contacted and is helping the family who lived there.

Fire marshals are working to investigate that blaze in Luzerne County.
