Enjoying the warm weather in Wilkes-Barre

After what some might say felt like a long winter. People in Luzerne County are making sure to take advantage of the sunshine and warm weather.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — After what some might say felt like a long winter. People in Wilkes-Barre are making sure to take advantage of the sunshine and warm weather.

Max Gregor says he'd usually be skiing on Montage Mountain if it were a little colder, but now that the weather is warming up, he decided to enjoy it with his friends on the golf course at Hollenback Golf Club.

"This is the first time we've been out in a while. It's good that it's finally getting a little warm out. We could play some holes," said Max Gregor of Wilkes-Barre.

With what seems like unpredictable Pennsylvania weather, Declan Gregor says you just need to make sure you have plans for whatever the day throws at you.

"The weather just changes like really quickly, and you just gotta be able to do different things. I plan on playing baseball this year and just going outside with my friends," said Gregor.

Not far from the golf course, people were also enjoying the sun at the Wilkes-Barre City Skatepark at Hollenback.

Ibrahim Ismail says he'd usually just be at home while waiting to go to work but couldn't pass up the opportunity to be outside.

"Well, today is beautiful out. Yesterday, I came down actually because the weather broke as well. Today is going to be a nice day of riding. I got to go to work later, so we're gonna get a nice session in before the sunsets," said Ibrahim Ismail of Kingston Township.

Although the weather is warmer this week, it will be getting chilly again soon. Lukas Fuqua says he wishes it would just stay this warm.

"It's good for your mental health. Like everything you know, you're supposed to be outside," said Lukas Fuqua of Wilkes-Barre.

William Borowski says the rapidly changing weather is all a part of living in Pennsylvania.

"I think that's what makes us Pennsylvanians. It makes us tough. We gotta go through all the seasons. Sometimes, we do it in one day," added Borowski of Edwardsville.

The skaters all agreed everyone should try and get some time outside while it's still sunny and warm.
