LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — A corrections officer has been found not guilty in connection with an inmate's death in Luzerne County.
In 2021 Edgar Gearhart was stabbed to death at SCI Dallas.
He was serving time for a killing in Northumberland County.
Police say another inmate was responsible for Gearhart's death but that the corrections officer on duty, Osmel Martinez, allegedly egged them on.
A jury found him not guilty Thursday night in Luzerne County.
