LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — The non-profit 'A Moment of Magic' teamed up with other local businesses and charities to host story time for kids at the Viewmont Mall in Lackawanna County.
Newswatch 16's Jim Coles and Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti were some of the guests who read to the kids and characters including pirates and several princesses.
"It's so important to try to inspire children to read and find a love of reading at an early age. Reading opens up such an opportunity for imagination and to explore the world around you in such a special way. So events like this really mean a lot to me because I remember doing them when I was a little kid," said Kylee McGrane, children's author.
Organizers are planning to have another story time this summer in Lackawanna County.
