SCRANTON -- Two young boys in Lackawanna County are using their lemonade stand to help animals in need of good home.

Michael and Nicholas Gowarty decided to have a lemonade stand outside their home on North Everett Avenue in Scranton Sunday to benefit "Hope for Hannah.”

The brothers came up with the idea after they recently adopted a dog from the organization.

The event went from being just a lemonade stand to having different baked goods for sale, raffle baskets, and even a DJ who offered to play for free.

“Me and my brother, we asked my dad and my mom if we can have an iced tea and lemonade sale,” said Michael Gowarty. “It just got bigger and bigger, like you can see here.

The boys managed to raise about $2,300 dollars for "Hope for Hannah" at the event in Scranton.
