SCRANTON -- Friday was National Bike to Work Day and it was the perfect time for the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Association to kick off guided bike tours on the Heritage Valley Trail.
Bikers can take a leisurely ride and learn about the trail's history from a tour guide.
"Even though you may run or walk along it every day, you may not know exactly what you're going past or what used to be here before the trail was here," explained Owen Worozbyt from the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Association. "So, we're going to try to do more programs like this to get people a little more familiar with their local history and heritage of the area."
The first tour was on Friday afternoon.
Bikers started in west Scranton, traveled about seven miles to Taylor and then back.
