Smelly, muddy water in Lackawanna County creek is caused by construction, authorities say

Construction on a dam at Dunmore Reservoir Number 7 is causing low water levels and sediment to flow into a nearby creek.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — Work on a dam is causing low, smelly water at a creek in Lackawanna County.

That's according to the Department of Environmental Protection and PA American Water.

Viewers sent Newswatch 16 photos of Roaring Brook Creek in Scranton and Dunmore.

Construction on a dam at Dunmore Reservoir Number 7 is causing low water levels and sediment to flow into the creek.

Work is expected to be finished in the fall there in Lackawanna County
