Businesses busy ahead of the holiday

Folks flocked to bakeries and seafood markets on Saturday to pick up their last-minute dinner and dessert needs.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Hundreds of people lined up outside of South Side Seafood in Scranton to get their holiday needs from under the sea.

There was free coffee on the sidewalk for customers to enjoy while they waited in line.

Many shoppers were getting seafood for the Feast of the Seven Fishes tradition.

And customers say it's great to see how many people were supporting a local business.

The day before Christmas Eve is historically their busiest day.

South Side Seafood is open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It was also a busy day at National Bakery along Capouse Avenue in Scranton.

Business there was steady all day. Many of these customers were picking up their holiday orders of rolls and French loaves.

National Bakery is open Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
