THON raises more than $16 million to help those impacted by childhood cancer

Penn State University's annual dance marathon ended this weekend with more than $16 million raised to help fight childhood cancer.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Penn State's annual THON has officially come to an end.

This year, the 46-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon raised a total of $16,995,683.63 to help those impacted by childhood cancer.

The theme for this year's dance marathon was Treasure Every Adventure.

Last year, THON raised more than $15 million.

The money raised will go towards cancer research and helping families with medical expenses.
