CARBON COUNTY -- For the third time in three days, a bomb scare interrupted class in Carbon County, not at one school, but in three different schools.
Those schools were Jim Thorpe, Lehighton and Panther Valley.
All were cleared out and emergency responders were called in to search for bombs after finding threats written on bathroom walls.
Panther Valley High School near Lansford was the latest in a string of bomb scares in Carbon County this week.
A note was found in the boys bathroom that a bomb was in a specific classroom. It’s the third threat in three days made to a school in Carbon County.
"It's not common and it's not safe and we're hoping that they stop,” said Carbon County EMA Director Mark Nalesnik.
Monday, Jim Thorpe had to evacuate the building and search the school after a threat was found in the boys bathroom.
Lehighton Area Middle School found a bomb threat in the girl’s bathroom on Tuesday.
Parents say it’s a frightening trend.
"It's scary, you know, worrying if your children are going to be OK, sending them off to school and what the outcome may be,” said Sheri Hutta of Summit Hill.
After seeing two other bomb threats this week and Tuesday's Los Angeles school scare, parent Curt Moser says this latest threat was almost expected.
“I kind of had a feeling it was going to be coming, just from the recent activities. I mean it really wasn't a shocker,” said Moser of Lansford.
Police say all three of the bomb threats are under investigation.
Officials believe this could just be a copycat trend among students looking to disrupt the school day that needs to stop.
“This is a serious issue. It's not a game. It's not fun and it puts people in danger,” said Nalesnik.
Some believe the only way to stop this trend is for parents to step in.
"You got to discipline your kids and teach them what's right from wrong,” said Moser.
Students at Panther Valley High School were sent to the nearby middle school while police searched the building.
Police say whoever is behind these threats will be facing serious criminal charges.
