PLAINS TOWNSHIP -- A court ruling in Luzerne County Tuesday reverses a state order for a resort near Wilkes-Barre meaning it will be able to keep its liquor license.

The Woodlands had been battling the state liquor control board since 2010 over its liquor license renewal.

The state denied its request and the two sides have been battling back and forth in court for the last three years.  The Woodlands had continued serving alcohol under a temporary court order during that time.

Owners of the resort are applauding the decision by Judge Richard Hughes saying his ruling will help the woodlands "continue to create an experience for every guest that delights and amazes."
