SCRANTON -- A woman who was a candidate for Scranton mayor earlier this year was taken into custody Wednesday morning.
Scranton police say they found Liz Randol around 1 a.m. sleeping in a car at a light at the intersection of Linden Street and Harrison Avenue in Scranton.
Investigators say they woke up Randol, who took her foot off the brake and backed her vehicle into a police transport van.
Police tell us they took Randol into custody for suspicion of DUI.
Randol ran in the primary for mayor of Scranton in May of this year as a Democrat. She lost to Bill Courtright.
